Tim Schulze
My Name: Tim Schulze AIA, NCARB
What I do:
Sound somewhat crazy....but I wish someone would let me know what I do as well!. I am still a hands-on architect. I still love being involved in all my projects .I will honestly do whatever is needed to succeed. I enjoy solving complex land planning and entitlement issues as well as putting together buildings/project on aggressive time frames.
I am a founding partner in PCA; our firm came out of the early 1990’s recession and hit the ground running. We have never stopped having fun. In this economic environment, I see all kinds of opportunities to grow. I am forward looking and always looking for solutions.
Company Name: Pacific Cornerstone Architects, Inc.
What we do:
Leading by Doing
Pacific Cornerstone Architects, Inc. (PCA) is a full-service, San Diego based firm providing services in all areas of architecture, including:
· Architectural Design
· Master Planning
· Laboratory Planning
· Tenant Improvements
· Interior Design and Space Planning
· Managing & Expediting the Entitlement Process
· Sustainable Design
· Construction Management
Since our founding in 1994, PCA has provided architectural services to clients throughout Southern California who have experienced
First hand our principal-level involvement in action—a commitment that goes beyond the attention that most design firms pay to this essential element.
All three of our PCA Principals—Sean Tracy, AIA; Tim Schulze, AIA, NCARB; and Kevin Perry, AIA—pride themselves in a common management philosophy that is far from common— “Leading by Doing,
Rather than Directing.” Rest assured we will remain in the picture, from conceptual design through construction and move-in, to provide attention to detail.
We are committed to designing facilities that stand the test of time with respect to economy, functionality, aesthetics and value in a competitive marketplace. We understand the importance of cost
Saving and flexible techniques.
Designing for Easy Maintenance & Sustainability
Elemental to the success of Pacific Cornerstone Architects is an approach to design that balances technology with quality, functionality and cost effectiveness. When PCA begins the design
process we consider the ultimate end-user as well as potential modifications that can be spurred by such unknowns as possible
expansion and technological advances. Our goal is to create buildings in partnership with our clients that are flexible enough to serve their next generation of needs.
Our attention to specific program requirements helps us to look toward the future and provide opportunities to accommodate an ever-changing
marketplace. The ultimate result is a building that reflects the image and character of our client that stands the test of time. PCA
continually explores alternate concepts and challenges our consultants to come up with innovative solutions that meet the flexible needs of our
clients over time. We have an understanding of high-performance durable materials that only comes with experience on numerous
applications in office and high-tech environments. PCA comes to the table prepared with materials options and performance costs that
promotes an open dialogue and assists clients in making confident and informed decisions.
Adapting to a Changing Environment
At the forefront of PCA’s philosophy is an uncompromising approach to sustainable design principles. As an active member of the US Building
Green Council (USBGC), our vision is to see technology integrated with regional and sustainable materials to reduce negative impacts on the
environment and the health of the occupants, without compromising the bottom line. High-performance green buildings have been proven
to yield significant savings in energy, water and maintenance costs, as well as boost employee productivity and improve employee health
and retention. PCA is committed to sustainable design and construction practices and to assisting clients in establishing the right green building
strategy for their projects.
